corinne chany - Bio
Interested from childhood by drawing and painting, I began drawing without any technical foundation or specific understanding. It was on meeting Michel Léger that I was initiated into the techniques of water colours.
From there I studied oil painting under Monsieur Boudignon at lePuy en Velay. Here I gained a thorough grounding in drawing, perspective, form and the use of colour.
Later, with Madame Adam, I returned to my first love, watercolours. Working many hours a day, I learnt much from the expositions in Lyon, Paris, Switzerland and Albi.
I have had the feeling of the blossoming of my sensitivity to reveal and express my own personality. If I paint it is because of a physical and moral necessity.
A child of the foothills of the Margeride, I know and understand the flora and landscapes of my childhood. My favourite subjects are flowers... but, beyond all, the flowers, which bloom in the wilderness: poppies, cornflowers, daffodils, etc ...
Today, to further explore my passion, I'm on a permanent quest to discovernew techniques, new means of expression. My recent works are born of a study of combining mixed fabrics, silk paper, cardboard, tissue paper and various textures, worked in acrylic and pigments. I listen intently to life and my curiosity helps me to understand and harmonise all the various techniques. I need to evolve, to learn continuously, to enrich the experience of life, to escape, to satisfy my thirst for knowledge.
